What is keyword density?
Keyword density is how often a word or phrase appears in your content relative to the total word count, shown as a percentage. It’s a quick way to see whether your page actually covers the topic you’re targeting — or whether you’re over-using a term (“keyword stuffing”), which can read poorly and hurt rankings.
There’s no magic number
Modern search engines understand topics and synonyms, so chasing an exact density percentage is outdated. Use this tool to sanity-check coverage and balance — write naturally for readers first, and make sure your main terms appear without being forced.
How to use it
- Paste your content into the box.
- Toggle stop-words to hide common filler (“the”, “and”, “of”).
- Switch between 1, 2, and 3-word phrases to see single keywords and longer ones.
