What is an Open Graph preview?

When you share a link on Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Slack, or WhatsApp, the platform reads your page’s Open Graph (and Twitter card) meta tags to build the preview card — the image, title, and description people see. Get these wrong and your link looks broken or plain; get them right and it earns more clicks.

How to use this tool

Image tips

Use a 1200×630px image (1.91:1) for the best result across platforms. Keep important text away from the edges, and host the image on a public HTTPS URL.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this tool and the topic.
What image size should I use for Open Graph?
Use 1200×630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio). It renders cleanly on Facebook, LinkedIn, and as a large Twitter/X card.
Where do the Open Graph tags go?
Inside your page’s <head>. Copy the generated block and paste it before the closing </head> tag.
Why does my old preview still show after I update the tags?
Platforms cache previews. Re-scrape with Facebook’s Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn’s Post Inspector to refresh the cached card.
